On April 17th, BallistiX' founder Nikolas was a speaker at the 3D Materials Conference on the Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Sittard-Geleen (The Netherlands). We were asked to give our vision on how blockchain technology could further revolutionize manufacturing when used in 3D printing applications.
In short: manufacturing techniques like 3D printing have enormous decentralizing potential that is hard to achieve with the current infrastructure. Blockchain can play a key role as the digital backbone for cyber physical manufacturing, like the internet is for communication.

During the presentation, we also explored three potential uses cases for the technology:
1. File integrity and DRM
2. 3D printing supply chain
3. 3D rendering with Golem
If you'd like to know more, you can find the presentation below! For the Dutch-speaking among us, 3D Print Magazine also did a cover story on the presentation.
