Efficient data retrieval for tax returns

Every year, Vandelanotte employees spend a lot of time collecting data and documents for the personal income tax return. Information is delivered in fragments, via different channels. We built a custom tool that centrally brings all data together. This ensures a more efficient and simpler process, for both Vandelanotte's customers and employees.

Challenge

Every year, the employees of Vandelanotte, the largest independent accounting, auditing and consultancy firm in Belgium with more than 20 offices, spend a lot of time collecting data and documents for their clients' personal tax returns.

Moreover, the information is provided via different channels. Some items can be found in the online platform myVandelanotte, other items are forwarded by email or even physically delivered.

This created a fragmented process, which proved time-consuming and inefficient for all parties. The lack of a clear overview and streamlined communication increased the risk that information reached Vandelanotte late or not at all.

Appraoch

The focus lay on a central solution where customers could upload all their data and documents. The platform had to be in line with the philosophy of Vandelanotte, which is a digital leader in the industry.

  • It was important for customers that the provision of data could be done as easily as possible, so that information is available in a timely and complete manner.
  • For the employees, seamless integration with myVandelanotte was a must, as was a link with their CRM system and a visual representation in the calculation tool.

Together, we entered into a phased Build & Connect track. In the first phase we looked at the functionalities, design and user-friendliness. After a thorough analysis and in continuous consultation, we proceeded to develop the tool, including an extensive testing phase.

Customers now respond significantly faster than before, which allows us to work more efficiently and optimise our services. Our employees are very satisfied with the user-friendly interface and the seamless integration with our existing systems.
